HEART OF THE WOMAN is our newest addition to our residential weekends joining Co-ed Encounter: Healing Together and Warriors, Lovers, Sons and Brothers men's weekend. The Baldwin Center has a rich history (since 1992) of providing these powerful opportunities for personal growth and life change.

Women are passionately pursuing rich and full lives, stretched and growing in infinite directions. As women respond to all of the possibilities of life, often there are breakdowns. Women who appear to be confident, competent achievers at work, at home and in church often have areas in their lives that are secretly, painfully disrupting their peace, and possibly key relationships.

At The Baldwin Center, we believe that God designed us for a purposeful, abundant life. We've designed this weekend especially for women to:

 

*   grow in their capacity to love themselves, love God and love people.

*   understand the ineffective ways they have coped and survived

*   encounter & heal the wounds of the past

*   determine to live more responsible, intentional, peaceful and generous lives

 

Imagine what life could be like if we truly believed God loves us passionately and accepts us completely.  Come and discover how real God's love is, and how He will use others in the healing of your life. We invite you to set apart this weekend "just for you."

It is our desire to provide an opportunity for each woman to look within herself and discover more deeply her soul, her thoughts and her hungers.  A wide variety of elements such as music, poetry, scripture, symbols, ritual, quotations, art and journaling are brought into the weekend to facilitate this.  Women will experience times of solitude and times of community; times of nurture and times of challenge.

These highly effective weekends are not designed to take the place of ongoing therapy, but rather to support and accelerate it. Often growth can occur that will move change ahead by months. These weekends are a powerful opportunity.  This is due in part to setting aside a whole weekend just for you with no other responsibilities, distractions or familiar escapes. Also the level of intentionality and commitment of other participants and the leaders, as well as the design of the weekend, create a safe and strong "container" for the entire group.

Men and women from all walks of life have attended our weekends. For some, a residential weekend is a powerful introduction to the unique healing environment of group therapy and is often a catalyst for joining one of our weekly groups. For others already in counseling, it compliments and augments their journey. We hope to welcome you if the time is right, a time to focus on you.
