Education and Experience:

Jo has a M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Trinity International University, emphasizing marriage and family counseling and the application of spiritual values in therapy. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois, and a board eligible National Certified Counselor. Jo is a member of the Christian Association for Psychological Studies, and an affiliate of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and the Illinois Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Jo also serves as a board member for the Trinity Counseling Alumni Network. She has assisted in the training of counseling students and has also worked in the field of adult education. Jo is trained and experienced in premarital and marital counseling, as well as grief and loss work with children. Additionally, Jo has helped parents with a variety of child-rearing concerns, and has counseled women in crisis pregnancies.

At the Baldwin Center:

Jo believes that the counseling process is an active partnership between client and therapist to produce change, growth, and healing. She loves working with people to help them with individual, marital and family issues. Her passion is assisting clients as they work to improve the important relationships in their lives, and helping them become the complete people God intended. Jo is also interested in working with people experiencing life transitions and those who have suffered from abusive religious experiences. She brings to The Center her specialized training and experience in family counseling, grief and loss work with children, crisis pregnancies and premarital counseling.

On the Personal Side:

Jo has been married since 1977 and is the mother of three adult children. She is an active participant in ministry at her church, working with engaged couples as they prepare for marriage. Jo enjoys travel, crafts, cooking, reading, and cross country skiing, and loves spending time relaxing with her family.
